VRay6: Vector displacement using VRayDisplacementMod with "Use object material" broken?

  • VRay6: Vector displacement using VRayDisplacementMod with "Use object material" broken?

    If I plug a vector displacement map directly into the VRayDisplacementMod and set it up as tangent, etc. everything works as expected, but if I plug the same map into a VRay Material and set the VRayDisplacementMod to "Use object material" it seems to ignore the vector part.

    Here is a visual of the results I'm getting.

    Thanks for the report. I logged the issue (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-14750). For now, abstain from using the "Use object material" option when working with Vector Displacement.

      And I guess I'll have to abstain... But using only the dedicated map slot in VRayDisplacementMod severely limits the option for controlling displacement using multiple UV map channels.

          ^Lele^ Is there a way to blend two maps, using UV channel 1 and 2 respectively, directly in VRayDisplacementMod? Right now the only way I know to make that work is by using "Use object material".

              Would love it if there was. Crossing my fingers that "Use obj mat" will be up and working again (presuming vectors used to be supported?) soon.
