  • Environment Map

I know this has been asked before, but I don't see an answer or remember it being answered. When placing a map in the MAX environment, I can see it in the viewport, but it doesn't render. Why?

Do you mean on an empty scene you add an environment map and nothing else and it doesn't render?
    That would be very odd.
If it's an existing scene then maybe something is blocking it like a non-invisible dome.
Or maybe you dragged the map and chose the wrong option, meaning it's only a viewport bkg.

Okay, you can't use a V-Ray bitmap, and I had to disable both visibility on my dome for the background and viewport.

Eh? Vray bitmap works fine, always has, so not sure how your setup is misbehaving.
