  • Rail Clone not rendering through cameras but will render in perspective view?

    Render Masters,

Trying to chase down a very strange bug. I have a scene with some rail clone objects xrefed in. I am rendering using the V-Ray GPU 7 Hotfix 1/Max 2025. When I render from my cameras the xref'd RC scene does not render? If I go to a perspective view and render, the RC objects will now render as intended.
    • I have gone into the this RC scene and made sure everything was visible, renderable, and doing tests in that file things appear to render fine.
    • I have gone into my Reference -> Xref Scene dialog and made sure the xref'd file was enabled, visible, and linked correct which it seems to be.
    • I made sure View to Render is on the correct camera, which it renders the view fine just no RC.
    • All materials seemed to be linked and happy.
    • My itoo license seems to attached and happy.
Is there anything else I may be missing. Maybe I have a radio button checked some where? Would some how things have got cached into those camera views? Never heard of that but....My next move was to merge that scene into my main file to see if I can get it to take. At this point I will take any solution to fix just need to get these renders out the door but I am still curious why this would be happening. The render logs don't really tell me much as far if I am running out of memory or any obvious red flags.

Any ideas or insights please share, appreciate the time - thanks again.

I just wanted to report back. After looking at everything, every object making sure things were not excluded from the camera, or clipped or things like that I just created new cameras and those RC objects now render. I cannot see anything between the new cameras and the original cameras that would tell it not to include the RC, along with anything in the RC to tell it not to render. No idea how all those cams got corrupted or what I am missing but new cameras did the trick so at least I can get this out the door. Still would love to know why cameras would not render RC objects but everything else. I am sure there's a radio button that was checked or not checked - always the case with my bugs. Anywho off to push more pixels. Thx

Camera clipping or environment range set? Was the camera scaled by accident? (Scale other than 100 in the curve editor?)
