Hi guys and dear devs, I am pretty frustrated using vray clipper. I am trying to have it only cut through these thousand of parts, not those thousand of parts. But it's really difficult to make a selection in the exclude list, which doesn't allow my to choose layers or x-ref scenes/objects, only allows actual objects in the scene.
The thing is, in order to work with 60k objects in the factory CAD files, I saved each part to its own layer, in its own Max file, then used x-ref to bring them into the master file. Now I only want to cut open the factory walls, which are 600+ pieces, and show the audience all the machines inside. But no matter I put the vray clipper inside the x-ref wall file, or in the master file, the clipper always cuts through everything.
The only solution for me right now is to import all the thousands of parts into the master scene instead of x-ref, so that clipper can properly exclude those, but my master scene will be SOOO heavy to operate. And it will cause lots of other file management issues.
You can see in the UI below, the clipper exclude doesn't have any layers nor x-ref objects.
Help me obi wan Kenobi, you are my only hope!
