  • displacement jaggedness

How do I get rid of the jaggedness on the edges here of a displacement map? Thanks.

Either increase the Blur of the bitmap (this will soften the edges) or decrease the Edge length for 3d displacement, or increase the displacement resolution for 2d displacement.

a higher res displacement map using a non compressed image format?

like if thats a low res crappy JPG, you could try with a higher res tif or something.

Using 16 bits/channel grayscale images helps also, but sometimes that's not very feasible.

Thanks....blurring a bit and decreasing the edge length seemed to help!

What if you're using a procedural map though?
