  • Vray and deamscape help

    hi there,

have difficalty with dreamscape and vray. trying to do a 400frame animation. nothing crazy. just a zoom out of this building. the structure sits on the point of a coast line, surrounded by beach and sea.

the problem im having is that the lighting of the scene is inconsistant.

im using irradiance at 0.8 and quasi-monte carlo at 0.6 no vray enviroment cause the dreamscape sea surface reacts badly to it.

    Frame 400

    Frame 200

    Frame 1

U can see in the last image (frame 1) how dark it is. can work it out.

    any help please?

are you rendering from a saved irradiance map?

nope. Its got something to do with the dreamscape sun. i excluded all object from the sun except the dreamscape sea surface and then added a target direct. seems to work better.

        Yes, you're right.

There is a reproduceable bug in the dreamscape-sun causing it to cast "inconsistent shadows" when there are moving/animated objects in the scene.
Just uncheck shadow casting from dreamscape sun (both geometry-geometry and geometry-sky) and you should be fine.

OK,an option then would be to place a seperate direct were the dreamscape sun is (or link it if the dreamscape sun has animation) and let this direct light cast the (vray)shadows.
