Watch the Task manager graphics - the RAM one.
If it is getting closer to 1.7 - 1.8 GB - you are probably running out of memory.

Have you got the /3GB switch enabled ?

is there a way to turn that error off, and just let vray continue to render regardless of errors?....somtime when rendering large images over night I get that error...and when you get that error the render stops

the error means you ran out of ram. its not as though you can turn it off and continue. if your out of ram your out of ram, there is no continueing

if you hit OK it should continue rendering (but with errors)

              Not this error it wont.

Do a search for 3gb switch, there are plenty of topics on how to use it.

Also you could try using dynamic memory/geometry.

                      I get that error occasionally.

IT DOES continue rendering when you close the dialogue. It doesn't actually crash until you are finished rendering.....which I think is rediculous.

What I have done near the end of a render is zoom in 100%, then take a series of screengrabs showing different parts of the image and stitching them together in photoshop. You should be able to get most of the image.

Of course, for the most part your screwed at the point of that error.

regarding the 3 gig switch. If my pc only has 2gigs of ram, will enabling the 3gb switch make a difference?
