  • G-Buffer Failure

    Hello all,

if you check the pictures u can see the problem i am facing.
The frames are not quite the thing i need.

Is there anything that pops to your mind that could solve these problems? For example:

    - The specular is completely black! what does that mean?
    - The Shadow is completely messed up. If i use the blending option ADD on the reflection stackrd OVER the Shadow u can see the mix of a mess.

    please help me out

    thank you all in advance!

    Michael

i fixed the shadow with a much higher subdivisions amount of the vray-light.

btw.: is it a wrong thought of NOT using vray lights at all?

what about the rest of the pictures, any solutions?
Is there some tutorial file where i can simply render the scene and test the given buffers?

        cheers

          Hello!

You don´t really need the shadow pass. Look at the post by cpnichols, he shows how to comp all passes together. It´s called basic vray comp. It´s a matter of using raw gi+diffuse, raw direct light+diffuse.
Specular is not needed either, unless your materials have some highlight glossiness turned on. Your specular channel is black because there are no specular effects on your scene.
Check that all your materials are vray materials, otherwise it won´t work.
Vraylights are recommended because they have lots of benefits over standard ones, specially for area shadows and interior/studio lighting.

yes my take on it is that you have to use vray mats otherwise gbuffers dont work.
