  • Strange Error

I'm working on a scene thats not really that advanced, othger than it having a character rigged with cat in it (I'm rather weary of cat). It renders the first frame fine, but starts getting this error message after frame 1 etc. The items of interest in this scene are a patch of earth that has some vray displacement in it, and vray grass growing ou of it. (As a precaution i duplicated the earth patch and removed the displacement from the duplicate so the vray grass is not generated from the object with vray displacement on it).

In addition there are couple of flowers that are animated along a path with flex on them for secondary motion, and while this should be quite safe to do in max, it idoes however slow the scene down considerably.

Anyway, here is the log file and the exception screengrab to go with it.
If nescessary, I can send the scene privately to chaosgroup if they need it.

    And the log file

    Update.
Well I have tried just about everything from removing the displacement and removing the grass, deleting the vraylights etc. I just cant get this error away.

Please, anyone have any idea of what might be causing this error? I realise I should send the file to vlado, but the file needs cat to open properly, and I have no idea if the chaos team has cat.

Looking in your log file it appears that problem is with the ground object. Once I had a similar problem compounded with some artefacts on the displaced grass. Solved the problem by using the Subdivide modifier. Just a shot in the dark but it's easy to try. The other thing is the obvious one: selective elimination of 50% of the scene agian and again untill you find the guilty party!

      Hope this might help
