  • geomtery errors with Vray-light

    Hy there,

I am trying to render a clay model of a Mercedes S-Class. Preferrably with a Vray Light over it. If I do so, the Geometry renders wrong. If I replace the VrayLight with 4Spotlights, it renders correctly. Any Ideas what´s wrong here?

    Help Would be great!!! D.

Looks like overlapping faces. Try increasing the secondary ray bias to 0.001.

Do you have any nested groups? Try ungrouping everything if so.

It looks like overlapping faces, indeed.

yeah the vray light is basically just showing up the problem in that mesh, which is probabaly as the others said, Overlapping faces.

So you can get around it by changing the secondary ray bias as Candelero said or remodelling those faces.

            Just PERFECT!!!

It´s working. Thanks for the fast reply!!!
Indeed there are overlapping faces, but inside the mesh - I only checked the other geometry objects...
And if it´s not too complicated, could you explain what the secondary ray bias does and why it´s a difference between 0,0 and 0,001? Would it be possible to set this value always to 0,001 to avoid this effect or is then something else not working?

            pretty much thanks!!! D.
