  • egz/simian materials and rendering strips problem

I'm trying to render strips of a single image on one computer (because the image is too large for this system), but backburner gives me an error when it tries to execute the job:

"ERR Missing dll: Scripted Plugin - SimianArchGlass ; Missing dll: Scripted Plugin - egzVRayGlass ; Missing dll: Scripted Plugin - egzVRayCarpaint ; Missing dll: Scripted Plugin - SimianBrushedMetal ; Missing dll: Scripted Plugin - SimianWoodFl"

I have the egz materials and the simian arch. materials and the scene was created on this same computer, but for some reason backburner can't find them. Any ideas?

since it's a maxscript based plugin, have you installed the simian material on the render farm machines too? Alternatively, there was a method to convert egz materials into standard vray materials which may also work fine. Something like this whould work:

    $.material = $.material.delegate

There is no render farm, just one computer--that's why it's baffling to me.
I will try your script, thank you.

I was able to convert materials ok, but still got the same error when trying to render strips. I merged the scene into a new file and am able to render in strips, but by doing this I lose my file linking (Viz 2006). So, even after converting materials there must still be something left behind that gives the missing plugin error. Is there any way to purge this info from my scene? Or do I just not use egz/simian materials when rendering via backburner?

egzmats are scripted, but you can put them into plugin folder and they will load just as well. That is for network nodes so you dont need to install them.

Thanks M.A., I just copied all of the egz*.mse and simian*.mse files into the plugins folder and now I am rendering strips like mad!
