    Any ideas

    I had red dots, splotches, bad grain, but never some of theses

    HDR lit
    4 Vray lights inside, right under the "real" fixture
    Linear workflow

    Regular reflections on metal, non interpolated, 8 subdivs

    styrafoam explosion? thats my best guess.
    the other guess is you might have some sort of (show clamped areas) thing turned on

      It looks as if you have the clamped setting unchecked.

        Clamped is unchecked, but I taught that's how we should do it with linear workflow.. I'll check the clamped option and give it a try..

          Well, it makes a difference, it removes the black line arount the blotch, but the blotch itself remains..
          Times runs out now, I'll do a lot of photoshop I guess

            Are you using the ColorCorrect plug-in? That's what did it for me-not as excessive but still the same annoying white dots.

                  Damn, that would have been easier than removing the colorcorrect nodes and reworking the textures. I'll give it a try. Thanks
