  • Vray Mesh export Proxy

I have about 100 Onsite trees I am trying to renderin a scene.....The scene renders in around 7 min now, which is ok....but I wondering if I can take it down a notch. If I select all the trees and right click and make them vray mesh........Proxies......Will that make the scene render faster.......Or is there antoher way to go about it.....

    Thanx

It would likely render slower, vrmeshes save memory not time.

do you already use geometry leaves instad of opacity mapped ones? at least with shadows geometry seems to be faster
of course the leaves should be fairly low-poly

I would combine the two forms and give it a shot. You don't want to export every tree as a proxy. Export one of each kind of tree, then replace the similar trees with instances of the main proxy.

Mike is right in that 'usually' geometry will render faster than alphas.
