  • More Network renders.....Again...

Ok.....rendered 500 frames last night in 7 hours....Very pleased with the speed so far and I am setting up more workhorses now. But here is my dilema...spelling...

When I render a test frame to my computer locally....NOT OVER THE NETWORK....I get this image....

When I render the 500 frames in my job over the network.......Every computer churns out this image Except ONE COMPUTER...it churns out the above image...and I mean color not the same image...that would suck.....

I am using displacement on the grass and I figure that may be it.......Anyone have any ideas......THanx for all your help before....The UNC code thing was it and that Barycentric morph thing was an old gas pump handle that was modeled in Max...I just deleted it....You could not see it anyways.......

    Thanx

maybe that one computer of yours is missing some plugin that all others have? if its just the grass...

Yeah, it looks like the offending machine is not seeing the grass map. Just check your paths. Or maybe the displacement map is causing memory errors on the bad node. Though if that were the case it would most likely drop out of backburner rather than just rendering the frame with a different color.

Weird...Thats just it......when I network render, ONLY one computer does it correctly......the rest have the different color grass......I am using 1.46, could there be an older problem, with network render and displacement......

hm missing bitmaps is due to not correct path, but what do you mean when you render this frame all at once? or do you render the animation ?

I can render a frame to a single server node, and it renders correctly....I can render to any node I want. But when I render all 1800 frames, ALL the nodes except one render INCORRECTLY. It is just the grass......Standard vray displacement grass that i have had for a while....but this is the first time I have done an animation in a while......I am gonna copy the grass-m1-01.jpg bitmap too all the local machines and see what happens......
Where do I go again to get the latest build? Thanx again

go to support longin and download vray.
as to grass..i can suggest this: try to work backwards, hide eveything exept grass render that, if its messed up then try turning things off like displacement, until you find whats causing this.

                    Ok...Will try that....One question......

I thought maybe the path name was giving me trouble....so I changed the path nam,e of the grass bitmap to the unc name......same locations ....just different way of seeing it.......and I got ANOTHER DIFFERENT image......

Grass slighty different again.........BUT....I realized that I am using the same IR map from before....but that should be ok...I have not changed anything........

So I render locally and I get this image...the same GOOD result as before

and I render to the same machine, but this time do it through the network render and I get this image.....

very disturbing.... lol..... I am doing a test at lunch....I am going to render the same frame to all 8 servers and rthen render one locally and compare the images.....Thanx again....

I get the same image as COmputer 14....but the same computer renders the top image as a node........This has to be something I can fix..........any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED....lol

                            Hi!
it's weird I have the same problem actually, but my filename is clearly
specified through the network and the filename is "displacement.jpg"

only one machine can't make the displacement when rendering through
network (???) the others work fine.

but for another scene (with the same models/texture/path/etc...) the
comp doing the problem works just fine and another comp of our 4 is
                            doing the problem..

apparently only with displacement there is a problem when network
                            rendering
I still didn't figured out how come..
