animation noise problem

  • animation noise problem

    hi to all,
    we actually working on an project with an big ice-block in animation.
    the ice material is pretty fine i think, but there is a static noise in the animation, and i cant figure out why.
    any tips?

    im not 100 percent sure but i think glossy refractions are taken into account with 3s. i know you have glossies set to 1 but try to increase your subdivs to lets say 20 and see if its smoother

      Uncheck Time Independent in the qmc rollout and use adaptive qmc for antialising. This makes the static noise pattern go away. Doesn't mean that you'll have no noise, just not the static one

          yes i've allready tried to increase the subdiv.
          sushidelic, i'll try it tommorow, i think i have to sleep now.

            well that was what jonas and me were looking for... thanks alot.

            esp. the static noise was anoying. i knew there was a button to switchit away, but couldnt remember anymore where.
