Opacity and Vue trees

Ive searched this forum and cant find what Im looking for. I have an exported (3ds) tree from Vue. Standard mat works good, a little slow, but not bad. Everything Iv read about opacity in Vray says that it faster with the Vray mat. I put the mask in the refract slot, IOR to 1, and even tried inverting the mask. No luck. Very slow. What am I doing wrong here ?

Any suggestions ?

Put the map in the opacity slot instead, not in the refraction slot.

hi mmikee,
is there a good connection between vue and max?
can you show some examples of trees do you imported in max?
and its possible to export leaves as geometry or does its only work with opacity maps?

I will try to post some renders and screens....Vue plants look great rendered with vray.
