  • loading DLLs problem

When opening Max8 sp2 I receive the following error for 2 files:

DLL <D:\Program Files\Autodesk\3dsMax8\plugins\vrayplugins\vrayfur 60.dlo> failed to initialize. Error code: 126 - The specified modeul could not be found.

I also get the error for VrayPlane60.dlo as well. Both files are there. I've tried reinstalling Vray version 1.47.03.80 and it didn't work.

I also tried loading the files theough the Plug-In Manager and that didn't work either.

Let me know if any other info is needed. Thanks

you most likely have to fix your plugin locations and plugin.ini

note that in plugin.ini the vrayplugins entry should be last. And that the plugins are located insides vrayplugins folder and not in plugin root.

could also be a mismatch in builds. did you have a newer build installed eventually ?

      thanks instinct

it was as simple as moving the VRay line in the plugin.ini file. At least as simple as that for the moment.

Your plugin.ini needs to look like this:

        [Directories]
        Additional MAX plug-ins=C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3dsMax8\plugins\
        V-Ray additional plug-ins=C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3dsMax8\plugins\vrayplugins\

Vray needs to come after "Additional MAX plug-ins" we have had this problem on several machines, don't know why and took a lot of head banging to figure it out....
