  • Splotches and I dont know why?

Im having problems with this scene. No matter what I do, I keep getting these splotches. Here is the rendering in question along with screen grabs of my settings. These are typical settings I use to render my work.

    1. The rendering

    2. Screen Grab of my light setup

    3.Vray Light Settings

    4.My typical settings

I tried at first to do caustics on the pool water but was haveing problems with doing that. I have made sure that all items that were generating caustics are no longer doing so. Now im still have these splotches. Any help would be appreciated. Also does anyone have suggestions on how to do pool water?

your Hsph value = 5 is extremely low. Try setting it to 50.

Thanks Candelero for replying. I thought i read somewhere if you increased your Global Subdivision multiplier in the QMC settings, you should reduce the Hsph value in the Irradance map settings? Otherwise your renderings would increase in time? I will try you suggestion.

        Sure, that is true.
Sorry I just missed your QMC sampler menu.

Consider that the QMC multiplier also multiplies all the materials subdivision, light shadow subdivision etc etc.
In your case the lights have default 8 subds. With a multiplier of 15 - that means 120 subdivisions for a light.

Also just for a quick test, check of all your GI caustics.

        Best regards,

So by haveing my lights multipled that high it might be causing the splotches.....I guess that means waaaaaay over sampling the lights?
