  • Jaggy problems!

    Here is the image:

    2. Jaggies on leaves of the plant

    3. Jaggies on pillows

    4. weird sampling along the sink cabinet legs

    Here are my settings:

Any ideas? I was thinking of switching to adaptive QMC for anti aliasing.

    Thanks for your help!

The jaggies in the light areas (1-3) are a result of the overbright areas being unclamped. According to Vlado this is unavoidable. Maybe try switching to "clamped" could help but I'm not sure what would happen to the rest of your scene. As for #4 I'm not sure. Are you using Gamma Correction? Adjusting the display with the frame buffer? If the latter I've seen problems with the sampler in these darker areas.

BTW, nice render otherwise. I esp. like the shade "glow".

jacksc02: yep gonna try adaptive QMC tonight.

dlparisi: Yes the image was unclamped and yes I am adjusting gamma after the fact via the VFB. I won't be doing any compositing so I think I am going to try gamma correction mapping with the adaptive QMC. Glad you like the rendering!
