  • Anim - white dots problem - Viz 2007

    Hello,

I get some white dots on this simple animation (flythrough 12Mo) :
    http://www.3dinside.fr/images/chaos/anim_rough.avi

    Sun is a vraylight 1.5m multipl.1200 and 24 subdiv
I use precalculate irrmap anbd lightcache.

On the 1st frame, the concrete texture won't load and then it's fine...

    Thanks for your help,

    julien

    Hi Jullien,

1200 is very high for a multiplier of a VRay light. That could be the cause of your white dots. I know scenes lit with HDR images which have a very high range suffer similar problems.

Can You find another way to light your scene without the sun as a test?

      Hi Dan,

Thanks for your help ! Very similar problem indeed !
If the vraylight is "invisible", the dots disappear... I suppose I can lower the multiplier and increase the size of the light.
      Thanks again

Julien, the white dots are simply reflections of your VRayLight in the reflective materials. Since the light is so small, reflection rays hit it only sometimes, but when they do, the light contribution is large enough to produce a visible dot.

        Best regards,
