  • Difference between secondary

When using IRMap for first bounce and QMC for second I get this result

If I switch to Light Cache, using 350 samples and 2 passes, changing nothing else I get the following

I usually use LC and use it in other cases for secondaries at least for fast preview renders, have not seen this before.

Using gamma 1/.4454 and the VRayVFB

    Any ideas?

    It's the correct result, imo.
WIth qmc you have 3 bounces, with LC a few more

Passes in the LC doesn't mean BOUNCES.
Check the manual for more info

That is a duh moment, yeah LC is more like "unlimited" still adjusting to LWF, guess this is a nother sign of how far off I was.

dman, for example if you take qmc and crank up bounce and samples way high you should get similar result.

Yeah, real dumb one there, did not even think when I changed the secondary bounce for QMC. In the mosh moment, thx!
