  • Dynamic Memory Limit

    Hi

Just wondering what people set this to when rendering very heavy animations?

I'm having crashes during the animation and suspect that it is a memory issue. Having 4gb ram running on a dual-dual core machine with win xp64, it really shouldn't be a problem with 1.25 million faces.

The model is a mix of ordinary geometry and proxies - think I will proxy some more geometry and check the bitmaps.

    thanks

I was using Static and it crashed within 10 frames so, switched to Dynamic and set it to 3000MB and it renders but, its painfully slow - alot slower than it was with Static.

Do anyone have any suggestion for this amount? The model seems to be using about 1.5Gb to operate so, with 4 gigs of ram should it be set to 2500 megs?

    thanks

      Anyone ?

My render times have almost tripled using the Dynamic option with 2500megs but, at least it renders.

So, really need to reduce this time - any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ok, I have no idea about Win XP 64. But I am using the 3GB switch to render large scenes on my 32 Bit Windows here at the company. It is necessary to do this. Otherwise I would not be able to use more than 1,5 GB of ram (have installed 2GB).

I am not sure if this is also relevant on a 64 bit system. But you might try it.
