spot lights

Am I doing something wrong here? The first spot light is a standard one which has a soft edge to it. Though, I cannot get that soft edge on the photometric spot lights....the second light. Is everyone just using the standard lights or is there a way to get that soft edge with the photometric lights? Thanks in advance!

Try raising the Falloff/Field value of the Spotlight parameter.

Hi Cristoforo,

You could also use an IES file to control the shape of the falloff. If you want a softer edge on your photometric lights you need to find an IES file from a light with a softer edge or make a suitable IES file youself. There was an IES file editor posted on this forum a while back which I could email to you if you need it.
