  • Rendering a home theater room

Just a quick questions for ya. I am planning a new home theater in my home and wondered what your method of lighting would be for it. Should I use IES type lights or small vray spheres with normalize intensity on? Since this is my first interior with no openings for exterior light to enter I must rely on the lights inside. I tried a couple test renders using gamma color mapping and everyting seemed very washed out and dull with no contrast. Walls are a darker beige and ceiling a very dark blue. Would the gamma color mapping cause this? Unfortunately I do not have an image to show you at this time. I am using IRR medium & LC 500 for my initial renders. Any comments are appreciated.

You can basically light it anyway you want. IES, spot lights, vraylights. Geometry lights. Its up to you.

Try IES they will give you a nice result!!

If things render washed out.. you need to adjust your textures accordingly. Try using the colorcorrect map with gamma set to 2.2 that may help alot.
