  • bug with brightness bellow 1 in matte and net rendering

    Hello
    Can someone confirm if this?
I have a plane with a box on top and a light source.
I want the plane to be matte (-1) and the box to cast a shadow on this matte.
If the shadow brightness is bellow 1 they disapear in all render nodes but not in the workstation that submited the job and where the manager is located.
If brightness is 1 then all machines render the shadows.
    Can someone confirm this bug??
    Thanks

      Hi.
      No materials.
I just made a matte plane (receiving shadows that affect alpha) and set the brightness to something bellow 1.
Put a box on top and a light source and send it to backburner.
Only this machine render the shadows, the nodes don't.
If brightness is 1 all node render the shadows.
      Can someone verify this?
      I don't know what's causing this...

Is it something connected with the "." "," problem ?
I will check that out too.

Well, exactly as we supposed ! The problem is not in V-Ray, but that
"." "," decimal sign. Make sure all your render nodes are set with "." [dot]
Then the rendering is going fluently with brightness of the matte set below 1.0.

            Hi.
            I forgot about that issue.
Nevertheless I already changed de decimal separator but the problem persists.
            Did anyone reproduced this error?
            Thanks

              Hm, strange
I could make it wrong and correct via BB. The difference was only the [dot].

BTW, which BB is this ?

              Best regards,

BB = supposed to mean BackBurner.

Here are some other V-Ray / MAX abbs

I tried opening max in a node and netrender from there.
The node renders fine and all others don't, including this worstation that was working in the previous situation.
                      Any ideas?

humm...I'm a bit afraid of moving to max8.
                          What's worst is that max8 can't save as max7....only 3ds

Anyone willing to check this issue on max7? Please?

                          Thanks

                            Ok...got it
Well...forgot that I have two users in the windows login
Changing the decimal separator in the correct one solved it.
Sorry...I'm not as fast as I would like hehe
