Max crash

[HMA_Steve]

I was rendering last night and the machine crashed and for some reason this must have messed max up because it would not open after and only a complete removal and reinstall of the program and plug ins would solve the problem.... anybody else had this happen and any idea why? The same file is rendering fine since the reinstall.
Any help greatly appreciated
