  • Problem file again

this file seems to crap out on all of a sudden...I did not change anything weird that I can think of....The file just will not do any prepass GI and a lot of erros like overbright materials , etc..etc...It was fine this morning and I need to fix this ASAP. Oh...and my vrlserver sometimes gives me application error when I open the file.......click ok to cancel and cancel to debug...etc..etc
    Thanx

And I can not even cancel out of the program now.......GRRRRRRR...vray justs hangs...Or I mean Viz just hangs, but it does not say NOT RESPONDING or anything like that....

JUst having a look at your file now.

As for the vrlserver.. maybe a memory problem? download memtest86 in ISO format and boot from that cd (after your burn it) and see if you get any errors after a complete test.

      Ok,

The overbrights are cause by the architectural materials that you have. It says so right in the error logs
[2006/Jul/25|11:14:43] warning: Material "Doors & Windows.Metal Doors & Frames.Steel Doors.Painted.White" (Architectural) is not compatible with V-Ray and may cause problems

[2006/Jul/25|11:14:43] warning: Material "Doors & Windows.Metal Doors & Frames.Aluminum Frame.Anodized.Dark Bronze.Satin" (Architectural) is not compatible with V-Ray and may cause problems

Fix those will be a great start, you also have a lot of standard max materials.. if possible converting them to vraymtl will help speed renders up a little.

Its not doing any prepasses because you have it loading from a saved IRmap file.

      All seems fairly ok now

Ahh ok... if its crashing it may very well be memory releated.
But try removing the arch materials... then convert all materials to vraymtl and then render again.
If it still crashes dump a grey vraymtl on all scene objects and see if it renders..

games... haha BF2... thats all ATM... cant stop playing
