  • DR solution issue with 1.5

Every now and again when I am doing test renders with DR on V-ray 1.5, I need to manually reset the IRmap solution as it seems some buckets are not updating their calculations. I am using IRmap/LC.

Not sure if this has been reported.
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

I haven't come accross this yet; can you describe a little better what happens there?

    Best regards,

I did have the same problem a while back when the farm was being shared by two of us and my machine started receiving buckets from my work companions pc ... we re-booted everything and all was fine, a tired network!

OK. I am running test renders on a scene using 8 dual core AMD machines plus my dual XEON workstation. I use LC (sometimes 500, sometimes 1000, sometimes more) and IRmap (medium settings).

95% of the time, all goes to plan, but sometimes, when I click render, the LC calculates fine, but when the buckets start calculating the IRmap, some of them appear darker (or lighter) than they should. For instance, I may have increased the lighting in the scene, so the whole image should be lighter. Some of the buckets seem to use the older data and thus are rendered darker. Resetting the IRmap seems to solve this.

Thinking back to older releases of Vray, I think the same happens when I change camera view - some of the buckets render the old camera view!

I haven't managed to pinpoint when this occurs, but I will pay more attention next time.

        Hope this helps.
        Kind Regards,

It probably means that some slave did not update the .max scene correctly to the new one with the changed parameters. This would also explain why some slaves rendered the old camera position. I'll make a note to look at this.
