  • VFB crashes at high res

For some reason when I crank up the resolution to print res (5000 + pix wide) max crashes when using the Vray frame buffer, but I don't have this problem with the max frame buffer. I'm using release 1.47.03. Anyone know something about this?

      time to get 1.5
VFB may crash when it runs out of memory. Especially with gbuffers stored in it. For example if you render a frame at size of 5000x3500, and you have 5 gbuffers then its 5 images at res of 5kx3,5k.

If you're not already, try "Network" rendering it: check Net Render in the render dialogue, start the Backburner Manager, hit Render and submit the job, save and close Max and start the Backburner Server.

This renders the file without the full Max interface in memory. Clears up tons of headroom.

Also make sure that you're not rendering any elements that you don't absolutely need.
