  • 1.5RC2 Default lights gnored when net rendering

    Compare the two images.
Whether I use render slaves or just my local machine for netrendering does not make a difference.
Only difference in render settings is that the netrender flag was ticked.

    Netrender

    Rocalrender

No lights or materials defined in the scene, lighting occurs only through
GI Environment (skylight) override in the V-Ray:Environment settings.

When I switch the Default lights off in the Global Switches section the renders look the same.

Default lights are not supported in DR mode (not only in RC2, but in all previous versions).

Other than reminding me I haven't put any lights in the scene it is never used. I suppose a black scene would do that too!

Practically never, I just found it strange that results differ depending on whether you use DR or not, that's all.

Funny, I never realised. If this is documented somewhere I probably missed that and I say no more. If it's not, it should be

Right, I've added it to the notes in the Distributed rendering section in the help index.
