  • Antialiasing problems in glossy reflection areas

    Hello everybody ...

I'm having some troubles with the antialiasing in the area where a highly glossy surface meets another object. The AA there ist quite bad and the contrast very hard.

Here's an example image ... notice the antialiasing on the right part is quite soft whereas the one on the left is not that pretty.

Rendering the thing in 4x resolution and scaling it down in Photoshop afterwards is fine ... but I'd like to keep render times low.

Here's the scene to check it out .... http://www.boardgames.at/upload/AA_Test.zip

Maybe somebody can help me and show me which settings have to be modified to get a better result ...

    BTW ... renderer is VRay 1.5 RC2

    Thanks ... Andreas.

Hello, I've tried it but there are no real changes of the AA.

      Thanks anyway ... Andreas.

        sub-pixel mapping AND clamping.
This issue has been discussed widely both here and in Joconnell's tutorials.
It's no mistake, it's how HDRI works.
