  • ongoing issues with dongles

We are having ongoing issues with the vray dongles. We have 3 individual dongles, each with one license.

When I go home at night, I pull out one of the dongles and take it home so that I can continue to work. I then bring it in the following day and plug it back into the server.

Most times, the vray server does not seem to detect the extra license, and we are stuck with only two!

Does anyone else have this problem? Its causing us major grief.
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

It is probably the USB ports cannot recognize it just after being pluged back.
Have you restarted the machine or just plug-out - plug-in ?

I literally just pulled out the dongle, and then when I come back in I plug it straight back in.

I just tried terminating the vray license server and pulling out all of the dongles. I then put in just one, restarted vrayserver and looked at http://localhost:30304 and there was one license. Plugged in another dongle and refreshed localhost but it still read just one license.

It seems you must terminate the license server before attaching another dongle and then restart it, one at a time, for all the licenses to be available.

Is this normal? Its a right pain in the arse if it is!
