  • Sun And Sky Settings

    Hi all,

I just started using sun and sky. I am having trouble with the settings. When my intensity multiplier is at 1 it blows out my image and when I set the IM to low the sky turns black.

Any suggestions would be much apprecitated. Thanks in advance!

      Hi Dynedain,

I am using Vray physical camera. When ever I lower the intensity multiplier the sky becomes black and when I raise it it blows out the building. Attached are my camera settings.

My first attachment is my sun settings.

leave the sun and sky at 1.0 and just fix up your camera settings.

User a low ISO say 100, and then play with the f-stop and shutter speed to get the render looking good.

See my avatar... that was vray sun/sky/camera
        Its all in the camera

          Thanks Daforce

The vraysun/sky is a whole new beast and I've had a few late nights trying to work out what to do.

It makse sense to leave the sun and sky at default at play with the camera. After all its what you do with your camera when you take pictures. As much as I've wanted to change the sun I've never been able to change it

            Hi DaForce,

Thanks for the reply. I did what you suggested by lowering the ISO and playing around with the f-stop and shutter speed but to no avail. My image still looks blown out. i have attached a screen shot of my updated settings.

            Thanks again.

Did you link the VRAYSUN to MAX's daylight and forget to turn the daylight off? Are MAX's default lights turnned off?

Adjust the exposure. 1/30 of a second is a bit long with full light. try 120 +-

Yeah it will most likely be the shutter speed thats catching you out.

                  As Sawyer said, try 120+
