  • No server computer slowdown??

The render farm we have set up uses the computers of our employees. Due to that we usually don't use the render farm until after everyone has gone home for the day. I did a test with VRay's distributed rendering on a bunch of computers rendering a 3400x2200 still at a "medium" setting while someone was still working on it. While the render server computers cpu process graphs did say they were at 100%, the computers didn't seem to have any slow down and the users didn't complain at all. Maybe I'm missing something, but, how can that be possible?

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Scott

I think that in DR slave mode, V-Ray automatically assigns a lower priority to the rendering threads.

I think I read somewhere that this is called Ninja Rendering.

Beware, I am a black belt in this .

I tried it with backburner for an animation. There was a slow down for that, but not for stills. Weird.
