  • vrimg converter channels...

I have rendered an image to vrimg format, checked some channels in RENDER ELEMENTS (RawGI, ZDepth, RawLighting etc...).

When I use the vrimg converter and ask for file infos, channels are there but when I ask it to extract let say, the RawGI, then the converter says that there is no such channel in the file

    problem with Max 7.5 + VRay 1.5 RC3

    Any idea?

Use the "-info" option to first see the names of the channels in the file. You must use one of these.

    Best regards,

        ok I find it...
But this converter is less and less user friendly...
To extract the RawGI you must enter :

        vrimg2exr xxxx.vrimg -channel VRayRawGlobalIlluminationMap

        Thanks anyway.

Not really; since you can have multiple channels of the same type (e.g. multiple ZDepth channels), there must be some way to set their names differently and distinguish betwen them; for this purpose the .vrimg file stores the element names as they appear in the 3dsmax UI. To me it's more user friendly than choosing some random internal name.
