It's me..I know it....Help with Displacement

Well...I guess I just dont get it...lol...Can someone help me out....In this scene...when you open it up....the lower brick water table....I want to use displacement and the settings are wrong I know....included are the two bitmaps I used.......Thanx in advance for any help you can offer on the displacement and the scene

i think you need to invert your displacement map.
remember the white areas get extruded the most.

Great....Thanx man....I also had the uvw settings all weird. Thanx for the links also......I am checking them out now
