  • Light splotches

Doing a sun study animation I wanted to use irrmap/qmc. I have not used QMC that often usually I really like the results it just takes much longer than using LC. For this animation I got lights bouncing around everywhere,

Comes in everyother frame or so the next frame in the sequence is fine.

Irr map is set to med animation the QMC is set to 30/8. I am not reusing the irrmap in anyway it recalcs every frame.

    Thanks

You might want to set your sun to be invisible and see if it fixes it.

I've found that for animated sun studies it is best to use QMC/LC. With IR map you often get flickering because the sun is moving.

Hmm my test today went from under 4 min per frame for irr map lc to over 16 with qmc/lc.

yep qmc/lc will be slow. no way around that.

I think if you crank up the IR map settings it may be better but your render times might start looking similar.
