  • strange things...with prerendered lightmap

    hi

i have a saved lightmap with primary irradiance map and secondary QMC prerendered.everything rendered ok in max6rc2

when i render this in max9rc3 with DR and i preload the lightmap i get something strange prepass rendered...after that the picture begins to render...

is this something new in rc3? i never had it in older versions...why this prepass now ?

    thanks for help

First of all, QMC is not pre-rendered, only the IR map.

The additional prepass could be a glossy interpolation pass.

Why would you precalc the IR in Max 6, rc2 and then render in Max 9, rc3? Sounds like trouble. Why not just re-pre-calc your IR map in Max 9, rc3?

      hey clifton

thanks for your help...some clearing words...

this pic was originally rendered in max6rc2...highres...long time you know for calculating irrmap...

so inbetween we had to change to max9...because of autodesk (max6 is no longer updatable)...

i did only change the map of the floor, so i took the good old lightmap...cause there was no time and no need to recalculate...sogood...

and THIS precalculation was NEVER been before....
