  • Clamped colors when saving til .hdr/openEXR

    Hi.

When we save our renders from Max's frame buffer to .hdr, it works fine (saves unclamped colors), but when we save from VRays' frame buffer, it clamps the colors. Also, when we render with backburner, it clamps the colors even when saved to the .hdr-format, which means we can't render multiple jobs during the night.

When we save to the OpenEXR format, it clamps the colors no matter what, which is bad because OpenEXR contains alpha, which .hdr doesn't.

The Render elements Unclamped colors also clamps the colors

Will this be solved with the RC4 release?

Yep, this is resolved in RC4; to get this working in RC3, you can use the "split render channels" option of the V-Ray VFB.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
