  • translucency and gi problem

    Hi,

I am having some problems with my Gi/shadows between two pieces of tranlucent glass. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brian

might try raising your hemispheric samples, otherwise, I couldn't say.

Thanks for the tip, I will try to bump them up more. I did initially bump them up from 30 to 50 but I didn't see any improvement.

One more question, will bumping up the HSph subdivs affect the quality of gi in animations (will it cause flickers)? I will be using this material in animation.

        Thanks,

ya itll affect the quality in animations. Itll raise the quality, less splotches and whatnot. At the cost of rendertime.

Unchecking store direct light in the lightcache rollout seemed to clean it up quite a bit, also increasing interp. samples helped.

            Thanks percydaman for your help.
