  • background dissapears.

create a standard scene with bimap background.
create a dome light to light the scene.
copy that dome light to light certain elements.
the background dissapears only in the final rendering, not in the viewport..

Check "Invisible" under the dome light settings. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "copy that dome light to light certain elements"; the dome light will by default light your entire scene. Are you excluding objects?
    www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

      yes, they are always invisible.
      the background is black.

      yes, i do exclude objects.

f.e. i light a bulding with one light, and the 2D Trees with another..

i'm not really following this - i did all those steps and the background bitmap renders fine.

If you put a bitmap image as a viewport background, it won't show up in the environment when rendered. You have to assign this bitmap to the environment background as well...

Is this along the right lines?
