1.09 to 1.47

Hello,
I have an old job that i need to do some amends to which was done in 1.09.
Currently beacuse of some legacy jobs we are still working on we haven't made the switch from 1.47 to 1.5 yet so i have opened the old files in 1.47 but im having the usual problem of slow renders. Can anyone give me some tips on speeding things back up? I have lowered the Subdivs in the GI but it still seems much slower... any tips?

i would start by merging the whole file into a 1.47 and continue from there

yeah then go through all your materials to find the ones with glossies and drop the subdiv from 50 down to 8 or whatevers appropriate

Cheers guys,
I merged into a new file, replaced the vray lights with new vray lights. Converted all the materials to VRay and changed the second bounce to Light Cache and its all super fast again! Guess ill have to do the same again when we finally use 1.5 for production. Damn thouse old jobs that come back to haunt every so often.
