  • Ink n Paint + VrayBlend Mtl (actually no bug here ;) solved)

Got some glitches over here. Ink n Paint max material just can't be rendered, if it's pasted on VrayBlend. After removing VRayBlend, by simply dragging Ink n Paint material over it - I can't even see it on rendered picture. To make it appear again - I have to put any material on selected obj, and then reassign my ink n paint
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

VRayBlendMtl can only work with V-Ray compatible materials, and, in newer builds, with Multi/Sub-object material (which is internally replaced by a V-Ray equivalent as well). This is a limitation that cannot be avoided, since in order to blend the materials efficiently, VRayBlendMtl completely bypasses the 3dsmax API.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Oh. I see Just forgot about

      Manual
VRayBlendMtl is specifically designed for the V-Ray shading API and can only support V-Ray compatible materials (VRayMtl, VRayFastSSS etc). Additional V-Ray compatible materials can be developed with the V-Ray Shading SDK.
