Vray Sky no go on DR slaves

This is wierd. About 50% of the time the DR slaves won't render a vray sky in the envirn / ref / background. Restarting, reloading, nothing works. I usually have to run the render crippled....

What gives?

It has been reported, unfortunately so far I have not been able to reproduce it - but I'll continue trying.

Odd problem. I have never seen that before.
One obvious question, are all the max/vray versions the same?

Ive seen this randomly, it looks like I have to save if I make any changes then DR again.

dman3d- when you hit render on a DR job max will save your file before rendering

This bug has appeared for us as well.

I'll see if I can track down a scene file demonstrating it.

Dont know if this is related or not but,

I installed Cisco's VPN client on my workstation today, when the
VPN client is connected distributing cant see the DR slaves.
It appears now that any DR render I send does not render correcty (from
this workstation), the DR slaves appear not to see any network assets
in the scene, proxies, textures ect...

Dont have time to test any others will try to in the next day or so, test
without VPN client then with.

Note: when I tried to install the VPN client originally over the network
it warned that drives may be disconnected and to copy it locally and install
and did so. Dont know if that helps in any way but there it is.

Yup, know it saves, just seemed when I do it manually (before the VPN thing) it would work properly more often.

Will keep an eye on this see if it persistent.

There was a particular issue in one instance where on the slaves the plugin.ini file was messed up and the V-Ray plugins were not loaded correctly, so the V-Ray sun and sky would not work in DR. However I'm not sure if this may be related to your problem.

Having this problem again.
This scene was working fine 2 days ago. Today = problems.

What is the deal with the .ini file?

It was an issue where the plugin.ini specified the plugins in wrong order and so the DR slaves were not loading the additional V-Ray plugins.

I had the same problem, and making sure that the v-ray plugins loaded after the max plugins in the plugins.ini file fixed it right away
