    Well, I am not quite sure why it has happened, but here are several things you can do:

    (*) kill the v-ray license service;
    (*) in the Task Manager, make sure there aren't any copies of 3dsmax left running;
    (*) unplug and plug the dongle;
    (*) make sure the dongle is recognized from the Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device manager (under universal serial bus controllers it should say WIBU-BOX/RU);
    (*) start the vrlservice again;
    (*) use the http://localhost:30304 address in your browser to make sure the service is running fine and recognizes the licenses;
    (*) start 3dsmax and see if V-Ray can connect to the server and get the license;

    Best regards,
    Vlado

        Problem fixed,

        We used the dongle from another pc and now it is up and running.

        I guess the dongle is broken.
        I will contact our reseller for a new dongle.

            Yeah i know, for now it wasn't a problem because we could fall back to the software license. But i assume that RC4 doesn't have a software license, so it could become a problem if more dongles start to fail.

            Let's hope it was just an incident.
