      I don't have QT Pro.

      I tend to have bother with using Xvid and the more obscure codecs. Also, I prefer to output from the Ram Player but it doesn't export to .mov.

        I export to .mov from ram player - in there you can change to sorensen codec and reduce the quality for file size. On Max 8

          QT with the H.264 codec is great for file size (tends to do some kind of gamma or brightness adjustment sometimes though).

          I think you won't get it very small without QT Pro though (only $30).

            Depending on the quality/size, I would try to avoid AA on an animation as it can produce more noticeable noise/flickering in an animation.

                Ive been using the same settings and stuff for a long time, but have been getting flickering in these pesky flowers. They're getting killed anyways, so hopefully will get resolved.

                  I have created a .mov of it but the quality has to be high to see the flickering/shimmering so, the file size is high @ 14mb. If anyone wants it I can provide it.

                        Ok I have punted a copy of it on our site so here is the link;

                        http://www.inlightin.co.uk/images/Fl...himmer%20c.mov

                        I must admit that the effect I am talking about is quite faint - with the compression of the movie, it is not as noticable. Anyway the main areas that are affected are the doors, under the table, the plant leaves, the kitchen tiles at the back and the light fittings. Its almost like having Interpolated glossies turned on in the material editor but it isn't confined to the materials.

                        Turning Detailed enhancment off and changing the AA filter to Area from Mitchell Netravali has helped but hasn't got rid of it.

                          did u render the sequence with a midgray overide material by any chance?
                          with the reflection turned off, or glossies?

                              Ok, with all the geometry a mid grey colour - the flickering/shimmering still persists.

                              The process I use is, set both GI engines to LC and render the LC map, save it and set to from file. Then render the VR map with Irradiance map and LC every 10th frame @ half the size. Save and use this map in the Irrad map slot. Then render the animation at full size. The setting shown at the beginning of this thread are the settings I used.

                              The lights are approx 25 subdivisions.

                                try doing your GI at full res, also you will get a better solution (IMHO) if you do the irmap and LC at the same time
