  • SSS rendering Black

I have a skin material that WAS working just fine for me. Now, for no reason that I can figure out, whenever I render, it comes out black! The sphere in the material editor is rendering just fine. The objects that I have the material applied to were X-Refs but I merged them in to see if that would solve the problem.

Anyone have any ideas? I've wasted two hours on this.

I'm sorry, I should have specified that it's the Fast SSS material I'm using.

Try changing the radius values and see if it helps. Also, just for a test, apply a new fastsss material and see if it works.

I found the problem. Somehow both the Shallow Radius and the Shallow Color got set to 0. I have no clue how that happened.
