At least I think it's 2d displacement or maybe displacement in general that is causing my computer to come to a standstill.
Whenever I have 2d displacement in a scene, that's all my exteriors and most of my interiors, Vray will stop working after a time (arbitrary) before the render is finished. Only 2 or 1 threat will remain at 100% (but not doing much), the rest is dead and the only way to get out of it is to kill MAX with task manager. I can save the content of the VFB though, so it's not completely dead. It's just that cancel has no effect.
I also get frequent material editor crashes and hanging behaviour whenever there is 2d displacement in my scene.
Now, is there a solution to this problem? Is there a workaround maybe?
Because so far, for me MAX9 and Vray rc3 is of not much use.
