Missing section of Pillar, Render Artifact?

Hello,
If I turn on my skylight portal near the big window, then the section of the pillar is missing:



If I turn off the light then the whole pillar renders. I need to keep the light on. Can anyone tell me what is causing this or what I can do about it? The light is a plane placed even with the edge of the room (about 3 feet from the window frame)

It looks to me that the pillar is there but that you're seeing a shadow or missing reflection.

well it certainly looks like teh side of the pillar are there but not the front.
That is weird. Have you tried from a different/closer camera angle?

You can try to use higher AA settings or the adaptive qmc image sampler and see if it helps.
