  • Black Line

I have done a test scene using vray sun/sky and camera and have noticed a black line which is only shown around the window opening ??

Has anyone else had this in a interior scene ?

    Regards

Turn on sub pixel mapping and possibly clamp output in the color mapping rollout thingie.

Can you post a pic of the problem area? Could be something like a gi leak.

            Nope :P

Post it up on a free image hosting site or even just the section with the problem if it's a privacy thing - much better to have as many people as possible looking at it since they'll have come across problems I haven't.

if you turn on subpixel mapping you must turn on clamp too.
if you find a bug...kill it.

Turn off any AA filter and use QMC AA, see if that helps.

The use of "Area" filtering instead of "Catmull-Rom" might be another way of fixing this issue.

Thanks for all your replys !!!! Your right Toby ! turning on Area antialiasing filter instead of cutmull-rom fixed it.

This is wierd, i have just done a quick test with this scene in question ! When leaving the environment standard i get the black lines around every sort of edge and object edge (see image 2) if i put a plane in front of the window all black lines dissapear.... whats happening here Vlado ???? (see image 1)

Its just the way it handles the sample against the environment.

Using a sharpening filter makes it alot more obvious. Which AA are you using BTW?

I used Area which did cure the problem ! but i just wanted to explore why the other filters did not work ! The other issue when using Area is that the black line does go, but you are left with really jaggy edges inplace of the black lines... if that makes sense ! Hence why i chose to try a different approach.

Using the plane in front of windows does work really well with all the filters !!! and leaves smooth antialiased edges ! as per my example.
